Other than weeds and diseases, lawns are inhabited by several insects, animals, and some rather unusual critters. This page is dedicated to those unfriendly varieties that may damage our hard work. This year, in particular, we have come across moles, voles, grub worms, crayfish (crawdads), fire ants, fleas, ticks and locusts (cicadas). The big topic last year was the locusts. Herbi-Systems uses products to move the moles out of the area by killing their food source, the grub worms. We recommend applying a preventative in April or September when the grubs are smaller and more manageable. Other times of the year, we apply an insecticide to gain control. The price is based on the square footage of turf in the lot. Please contact us for a price quote. Read more about grub worms...
Voles are also becoming a nuisance in some southerner’s lawns. Also called meadow mice or field mice, voles can cause damage to your trees, ornamental plants and small lawn areas. Read more about voles and control methods from the Nevada Department of Agriculture.
Herbi-Systems also provides applications to control Fire Ants and Fleas and Ticks. Our NEW FIRE ANT TREATMENT guarantees control for ONE FULL YEAR! Please contact us for a price quote. Read more about Fire Ants...
